Robert Siegal was another local resident
who was totally committed to helping troubled youths. He was a friend
and kindred spirit of Glover's and developed his own unique system of
diverting youths from crime and self-destruction.
Combining his NYU education with years of experience on the streets,
Siegal was able to create one of the most innovative and effective programs
of its kind in the US.
In 1976, Siegal named his program in honor of the man who had reached
out to dozens of neighborhood youths on the brink of trouble. He called
it The Andrew Glover Youth Program. Robert Siegal died at age 28 having
seen his program succeed.
